Apollo 10 commander Tom Stafford pats Snoopy’s nose prior to launch on May 18, 1969. This was the second Apollo to orbit the Moon and in which the Lunar Module, Snoopy, descended to with 14.4 kilometres (7.8 nautical miles) of the lunar surface.
